A – Take a fabric measuring tape and measure tightly across from one outside channel to the other. Do so at the top, middle and bottom of the chair or chaise frame. Take the average. For the length, measure the fabric alongside the chair rail from top to bottom for the most accurate result.

A – The cost to repair or refinish any one piece can vary widely depending on the set of furniture. As a rule of thumb, restoring a piece of furniture is usually half the cost of new. Contact us with a photo of your furniture for a quote.
A – Yes, we have a variety of parts, strap and fabric for purchase online. We ship all across Canada.
A – This is a commonly asked question and not always the easiest to answer. Generally if your furniture is good quality, in good shape, and you like it, it is worth fixing or repairing. In some cases, the cost of refurbishing a piece of furniture will exceed the cost of new if it is inexpensive. In that case, it’s probably not worth it unless you want to maintain the whole set.
A – We only offer complete frame refinishing, but would be happy to help you with suggestions for doing touch-ups yourself.
A – In most cases, slings are fairly straightforward to install, but special tools are required, like a 24″ reverse clamp-spreader. We offer a discount on the slings if you choose to install them yourself. See our Sling DIY page for more details on installing and the tools you will need.
A – Pick up and delivery can be arranged if needed. Example: Pick up OR delivery to the city of Toronto is $95. Costs are dependent on your location. Send us your address with a photo of your set for a quote.
A – Warranties for workmanship and materials vary depending on what is done and in some cases will exceed original manufacturer’s warranties.
Welding: 5 years
Frame refinishing: 5 years against peeling or bubbling of the finish *we do not guarantee against rust on wrought iron or steel items or general wear & tear.
Seating material replacement (strap or fabric sling): 2 years *on stitching or installation
Umbrella repairs: 60 days *we do not guarantee against wind related incidents
A – There are various ways you can clean and care for your set. Light pressure washing can be very effective. You can use a soap and water solution or water and a small amount of bleach can be used to clean frames and fabrics. As well, there are specific outdoor furniture cleaners available that do a good job. It is always important to check manufacturer’s directions when cleaning outdoor furniture.
A – Certain fabrics from some manufacturers may still be available. We will do our best to source your original fabric, but in most cases, you will have to choose a new fabric. See our fabric page for selections.
A – Patio Chair Rx wants to reduce what ends up in the landfill. Send us a photo of your old set and we will consider taking it off your hands for free.
A – The time needed to complete a job varies depending on what’s required. Generally, seating material replacement is 3-4 weeks depending on its complexity. Frame refinishing is 6 -8 weeks. These times may be longer especially during our peak season, April to August. An approximate timeline will be confirmed when you place your work order, but is subject to change.
A – All Patio Chair Rx services are offered year round. For some, the fall is an ideal time to drop off furniture for repair or refinishing. We also offer off-site storage and shrink wrapping to protect furniture from the winter elements.
A – The business was established in 1996. For over 25 years, we have been servicing the GTA, southern and central Ontario. Our clients include residential, commercial and dealer service providers.
A – Our business hours are typically Monday to Friday 9 – 5pm.
During our peak season, May – August only, we are open Saturday mornings from 9am – 12 noon.
If you would like to drop off furniture at our shop during the week, we strongly recommend that you call ahead first.

Our business did not purposely process a charge to your credit card.
Card testing is a fraudulent activity where stolen credit card information is used by “bot” software to test the validity of a credit card number by making a small purchase on an e-commerce website. If the purchase is successful the card information is further used or sold as a valid credit card.
Your credit card information has likely been compromised and in the hands of fraudsters.
Our company cannot process a refund to your credit card as we do not possess your personal information or credit card number.
Steps To Take
- Contact your credit card provider (bank) immediately and dispute the charge to have it reversed.
- Ask your credit card provider (bank) to cancel your card and issue a replacement.
- Change the password(s) for your online credit card or banking access.
